Recently, our sister brand of CEAg World (under the Meister Media Worldwide umbrella) looked at additional developments in the newly founded Cox Farms project with the acquisition of Hacienda North Farms by Cox-affiliated Mucci Farms. Here’s a look at this next step for the business focused on sustainable food and agriculture:
Mucci Farms, an established grower and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables, acquired Hacienda North Farms in Coatsworth, ON, Canada on May 24, 2024. Mucci Farms is part of the newly launched Cox Farms, which aims to grow fresh produce for a growing population.
Hacienda North Farms has been a grower partner of Mucci Farms for nearly 10 years, specializing in the cultivation of quality bell peppers. With this acquisition, Mucci Farms expands its greenhouse operation and hopes to better serve its retail partners.
“Working directly with Hacienda Farms for several years has given us insight into the facilities and the quality product that’s grown there,” says Bert Mucci, CEO of Mucci Farms. “Bringing them into our fold presents an exciting opportunity to further enhance our ability to meet the needs of our retail partners.”
The partnership between Mucci Farms and Cox Farms continues to give the company more of a presence across North America.

In addition to gaining a greenhouse facility, the acquisition includes a significant land bank spanning 120 acres, giving them room for future expansion. Mucci Farms remains committed to growing bell peppers but is open to growing other crops farther down the line.
